Four-star class of 2016 wide receiver Darnell Salomon has reported apologized to University of Georgia head football coach Mark Richt via a two page letter. Back in July of 2014, a warrant for Salomon arrest was issued after two female Georgia athletes told officers an unknown suspect had entered their campus dorm room and stolen an iPhone and wallet.
Salomon later stated, “It was just a mistake, a really dumb mistake I made,” Salomon said. “Everyone makes mistakes, I learned, and will never do something like that again.”
Although it is unclear if Georgia is still interested in Salomon, CBS Sports reports that the No. 4 ranked wide receiver in the class of 2016 also holds offers from major programs including Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Auburn, Texas and Oregon.
But is Salomon’s apology a little too late? Should the gifted young star be allowed to compete at the next level? Read the full story here and tell us your thoughts.
